The xVIII exploits the capabilities and promise of carbon fiber in ways that are entirely new to racing shell design. The result is a racing machine that is fundamentally different from any rowing shell that has come before.
In contrast to traditional hulls with perpendicular bulkheads supporting the seat deck, the xVIII has individual seat decks suspended on flotation chambers which parallel the length of the hull. The elimination of unnecessary seat deck and bulkhead material means more material where it matters: back in the hull.
Additionally, the geometry of the system creates structural strength. The xDeck is not simply a platform to support seat tracks. It provides structure the same way a wing rigger mitigates twisting forces on the hull.
The Large xVIII has our G7 (seventh generation) carbon fiber wing rigger and an all-new carbon and titanium fully-adjustable footboard.
